Many ppl know I love the style of Javier/Andrea, and I took lots lessons from them from 3 years ago, group classes or private ones. Of course, the lessons I took from them are few than Gustavo Lin. But I think I could still claim I am one of ppl who most knowing their style.This year, I took all of classes of Javier/Andrea as usual.
I have danced tango for more than 6 years. Comparing some other ppl in Taipei, I still like a kid starting tango. But here wanna share some idea for tango babies who like them.
I love my teachers not only coz they dance very well. Lot of maestros from Argentine dance very well. Many argentine teachers dance with lots fantasy steps, more then my maestros. But I believe tango is not only a dance, which is about how you move your body.
Tango is a culture, a mental stuff!
Javier/Andrea, they talk about tango culture in lessons. Many times, they talk a lot in a class, nor matter group or private. You might think that's really expansive, especially for a private one.... it did be expansive, but believe me, it did deserved.They talk a lot to make sure you understand why you need to change, make sure you know what they want you to do, make sure you believe you what you need to change.
If you don't believe them from heart, you are wasting time of each other.
You believe them, then you could do it well... maybe not now, but get better and better later.
Of course, they are not the only one who can express tango culture. Their style is not the exact way to dance tango. But I love their center thinking: Embrace, taking care of each other is the most important thing of tango.
So when I heard about the favorite male tango leader for Andrea in HK is one who dance in short period, a beginner! Sandra said the guy dance very gentle with very simply steps. Now I realize my big "violent" problem again. I realize why the more I want to dance better, the worse I dance. I need to think about how to make her comfertable and beautiful, but not if my steps is on bit nor my steps is in good musicality. I should think "sollament ella" (only her).
Embrace, taking care of each other is the most important thing of tango!
